Igor Bergese, italian composer and violinist is the winner of Del Melle Award 2002.

Since his beginnings Bergese’s musical interest is pointed on creative and
composing aspects, so he wrote many works for violin and strings. He was finalist of the international composition contest G.B.Viotti (Vercelli 1985).

He refined his technical and poetical features in musical composition to the School of Music of Fiesole with maestri Sylvano Bussotti and Giacomo Manzoni, and attended the courses of Alti Studi at the B.O.B of Genazzano (Rome), composing scores with pictographical – chromatic notation system. In 1993 got the Diploma of Specialization in Contemporary Composition with Donation, also composing scores of Jews inspiration. From 1991 Bergese has also brought on an educational and didactic musical-composing program for schools and musical institutes; he is also composer of experimental scores with
live electronics.

His works are elected in Italy, Germany, Argentina, and Norway. Bergese, finally, has devoted himself, to the search of musical sources such as rare manuscripts and print editions, collaborating with the Teatro Regio (Turin).
